Swedru All Blacks continued their impressive home form in the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Karela United, securing their second consecutive home win of the season.
The Black Magicians made a bright start and were rewarded in the 10th minute when forward Wiafe Darkwah was brought down inside the penalty area by Karela United goalkeeper Ganiu Mohammed Abdul.
Darkwah stepped up to take the resulting spot-kick and calmly converted to give the hosts an early lead.
Despite falling behind, Karela United remained organised defensively, with captain Abdul Fatawu Mohammed leading the backline. The visitors managed to limit further damage and went into the half-time break trailing by just one goal.
All Blacks resumed the second half with renewed attacking intent, putting the visitors under sustained pressure as they searched for a second goal.
Their persistence paid off in the 60th minute when Faisal Charwetey capitalised on a loose ball following a scrappy passage of play in Karela United’s half to double the hosts’ advantage.
The goal came after Darkwah had gone down again in the penalty area, but the referee allowed play to continue, enabling Danquah to finish the move.
The Ozii Ozaa boys maintained their attacking momentum for the remainder of the contest, while Karela United struggled to find a way back into the game.
Despite their efforts, the visitors could not break down the All Blacks defence, leaving Swedru with all three points.
The victory takes Swedru All Blacks to 11 points after seven matches in the Ghana Premier League, providing a timely boost ahead of their Matchweek Eight encounter against Young Apostles.
Karela United, meanwhile, will look to bounce back when they return to the Aliu Mahama Stadium to host newly promoted Port City, as they seek to put the defeat behind them.
