Asante Kotoko and Medeama SC shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in their Ghana Premier League Matchweek 9 encounter at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Sulemana Usman gave the visitors the lead in the 43rd minute, capitalising on their first-half efforts to put the league leaders ahead before the break.
Kotoko responded after the restart and found an equaliser through Mohammed Hamzata in the 56th minute to bring the Porcupine Warriors back into the contest.
The two sides were unable to find a winner as they settled for a point apiece in one of the weekend's headline fixtures.
The result extends Kotoko's search for consistency after they were also held to a 1-1 draw by FC AshantiGold 04 in their previous league outing at the Len Clay Stadium.
Medeama, meanwhile, were looking to strengthen their position at the top of the table after recovering from their first defeat of the campaign with a 1-0 victory over Aduana FC.
The Tarkwa-based side entered the contest with 17 points from eight matches, while Kotoko were eighth with 12 points. Medeama had also won four of their previous five league matches, making the trip to Kumasi an important test of their title credentials.
The draw means Medeama drop points in their bid to consolidate top spot, while Kotoko will take encouragement from their response after falling behind.
Both sides will now turn their attention to their next league fixtures as the 2026/27 campaign continues.
